Viscoelastic Hemostatic Assay

This simulation is published in the name of free open access medicine education (FOAM). Many hours of development time were spent to provide a free tool to simulate viscoelastic hemostatic assays (VHA). Hopefully, it helps students in the field of emergency and intensive-care medicine to learn about these technologies, and to use them in the future to treat bleeding patients, or those who suffer from coagulopathy, more precisely. Maybe it can even be integrated in high-fidelity simulation trainings and support the more frequent usage of these point-of-care tests.

The project was developed by David Enajat, a doctor in training from Vienna. It all started as a student, when i rendered computer-generated images for viscoelastic hemostatic assays as part of a simulation training. After some time, it became clear that it was only a small step to convert these drawings into a real-time simulation.
